About

I hold a PhD in English Linguistics from the University of Louvain and I am currently an assistant professor at the Université de Lille. I am also affiliated with the Centre for English Corpus Linguistics at the University of Louvain.

My main research interests lie in the cognitive representation of language, with a particular focus on English used as first, second and foreign language. As a corpus linguist and construction grammarian, my research is guided by the premises that grammar emerges from language use, that the social and cognitive dimensions of language are inextricably linked, and that the study of usage data as represented in corpora has valuable insights to offer into linguistic structure and its cognitive representation
